Polytechnic Consulting Group Invests in Future STEM Leaders at NSBE DC's 36th Anniversary Scholarship & Awards Gala
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) DC Chapter celebrated leadership, legacy, and impact during its 36th Anniversary Scholarship & Awards Gala, bringing together enterprise leaders, chapter founders, and community partners committed to engineering the future.
Polytechnic Consulting Group (PCG) proudly served as a key sponsor of the event alongside Pepco and R.C. Ezike Enterprises, supporting NSBE DC's mission to increase the number of Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact their communities.
As part of its commitment to investing in the next generation of STEM leaders, Polytechnic Consulting Group awarded more than $1,000 in scholarship funding to future engineer Dontae Hansford, helping advance his educational journey and reduce the financial barriers associated with higher education.
"Investing in the future of young Black engineers gives them an opportunity to pursue their dreams without unnecessary financial burdens or barriers," said Randall Norfleet, President of Polytechnic Consulting Group.
Hansford expressed his gratitude upon receiving the scholarship.
"I am truly grateful to be a recipient of this award. This allows me to be one step closer to achieving as little student debt as possible, as it weakens the financial burden of going to college for me and my family. In the fall, I will be attending Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, where I plan to major in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics."
The evening also recognized the leadership and service of Randall Norfleet, Vice President of NSBE DC, who has served in the role for the past two years. Driven by a passion for mentorship and the future of engineering, Randall has helped ensure the chapter's programming reflects the evolving needs of today's engineering landscape. During his tenure, he strengthened partnerships with NSBE chapters across the country and cultivated relationships with organizations throughout the Washington, D.C. region, expanding opportunities for students and professionals alike.
The gala served as a powerful reminder that investing in education, mentorship, and community partnerships creates lasting opportunities for future innovators. Through its support of NSBE DC and scholarship recipients like Hansford, Polytechnic Consulting Group remains committed to empowering the next generation of STEM talent and helping build a stronger, more inclusive engineering workforce.
